We took the position to avoid ill-advised loans for the industry and consuming public—never getting involved in reckless lending. Like some other financial institutions we could have financially profited at the expense of good business practices, but chose to protect our clients. Whereas many banks and mortgage brokers no longer exist, we’re still here . . . having financed hundreds and hundreds of homes over the years.
