It all started in 1900, when a group of 35 local businessmen and farmers established Senatobia Bank as a home owned, community bank dedicated to providing banking services in a friendly and effective manner. We have stayed a community bank throughout all these years; even today, most of the shareholders of our holding company, Tate Financial Corporation, reside in Tate County and the surrounding areas.
The bank was named for the town originally called Senatohoba by the local Indians (it means White Sycamore, a symbol of rest for the weary). Now Senatobia is a thriving community with industries, excellent schools, churches of every denomination, an active arts council, and a city park named Sycamore Park.
Still home owned and still dedicated to the high standards set by our founders, our name change to Sycamore Bank reflects the growth and expansion of those values to areas beyond Senatobia and now encompassing a large portion of North Mississippi.
