1st Bank in Hominy was founded on February 10, 1906 by the Mullendore and Edgington families. On April 26, 1911 the Bank of Commerce changed from a State Charter to a National Charter. In 1935 The National Bank of Commerce merged with the First National Bank & The National Bank of Commerce changed its name to The First National Bank in Hominy.


The bank was founded as Bank of Commerce on February 10, 1906 by the Mullendore and Edgington families. On April 26, 1911 the Bank of Commerce changed from a State Charter to a National Charter, thus changing the name to The National Bank of Commerce. In 1935 The National Bank of Commerce merged with the First National Bank and on January 15, 1936 The National Bank of Commerce changed its name to The First National Bank in Hominy. The First National Bank in Hominy received 100 year recognition from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 2011. On December 14, 2016, The First National Bank in Hominy converted to a State Chartered Bank changing its name to 1st Bank in Hominy. To this day the descendents of the Mullendore family continue to be actively involved with the bank.
