Centex Citizens received its original charter in 1954 as Mexia State School Credit Union to serve the employees of Mexia State School. It was virtually operated on a "back-pocket" system with a signature and handshake being all that was required for employees to make small loans. With each passing year, the membership and assets grew and soon a full time manager and other staff were added. In 1992 a new community charter was granted to the credit union which allows us to serve essentially anyone who lives or works in Limestone County, as well as parts of Freestone, Hill and Navarro Counties. With this new charter came the new name, Centex Citizens Credit Union and the construction of the main branch located on Highway 171. In 2005, CCCU further expanded with an East Location located on Highway 84 in Mexia in front of the Wal-Mart. In 2014 our charter was expanded to include All of Navarro County. We continued our growth in 2019 to include Ennis and some of the surrounding areas to include the following zip codes 75101, 76670, 76651, 76623, 75119. Our Ennis Branch opened on January 2, 2020. We now have three locations: Our Mexia Branch is located at 1404 E. Milam, Mexia Texas 76667 (in front of Walmart), our Corsicana Branch location is 3501 W. 7th Avenue, Corsicana Texas 75110, and our Ennis Branch location is 2251 W Ennis Avenue, Ennis TX 75119.
