With more than 2,100 members and assets over $50 million, Dow Great Western Credit Union has been providing our members with a variety of financial services for more than 83 years!
We have the distinct honor of serving our community since 1938. In 1938 the Dow Chemical Company purchased the Great Western Electro Chemical Company in Pittsburg, CA. As the first Dow manufacturing facility expansion, they immediately saw the need to establish a Credit Union to offer the employees access to affordable and sustainable financing options. In that same year, they created the Dow Great Western Credit Union.
They knew that a not-for-profit Credit Union that was OWNED by its members and with a volunteer board of directors would give them the best banking options available. Learn more about why Credit Unions will always be better than banks, by reading about the Credit Union Difference.
In 2008 we expanded our charter to be able to bring our values and services to others in the community. We opened a second branch in Antioch to better serve our members and became the local Credit Union option in East Contra Costa County.

CloseLTV is the abbreviation of Loan To Value, and it is the ratio between the Loan Amount and the Property Value. The formula to calculate LTV is Loan Amount divided by the property value.
