Transfiguration Parish Federal Credit Union started its operations in the basement of the Transfiguration Church convent on Marcy Avenue in Brooklyn, New York in 1962. Father Karvelis wanted to provide our community with the financial tools and services at a lower cost as compared to other financial institutions. We started with a minimum capital of less than a $1, 000.00 dollars. All staff members were volunteers. A few years later we moved our operations to the South Side area due to member's growth and a need for a larger location. We continued with our goals to improve services by acquiring a building at 429 Broadway in Williamsburg, which is a central location to our members.
