Millstream Area Credit Union was organized for the union employees of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in Findlay, Ohio. It included their wives, husbands, parents, widows and widowers of members in good standing at the time of their death, and dependent children residing in the same household. The credit union was organized to provide financial services to the workers and their families at a more reasonable cost than the area banks were offering. It gave the Cooper union employees a place where they could borrow money by simply asking and signing a loan note. It was also a place where they could automatically transfer a portion of their paycheck to a savings account for the benefit of saving.
