The Nebraska Rural Electric Association Credit Union also known as NREA Credit Union, was chartered in 1973. We are located in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the offices of the statewide Nebraska Rural Electric Association, but we have credit union representatives to assist our staff located in most of the Association’s 34 member Rural Public Power District


The Nebraska Rural Electric Association Credit Union, also known as NREA Credit Union, was chartered in 1973. We are located in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the offices of the statewide Nebraska Rural Electric Association, but we have credit union representatives to assist our staff located in most of the Association’s 34 member Rural Public Power District and Electric Cooperative offices throughout Nebraska and three of the neighboring states.

Membership: Membership is open to all employees and directors of public power districts and electric cooperatives that are members of NREA, as well as to all members of the immediate families of those employees and directors. The immediate family includes spouses, parents, children, brothers and sisters, step-parents, step-children, mothers and fathers-in-laws, grandparents, and grandchildren.
