With over a "Century of Service" to Phillips County, The First State Bank of Malta was organized on Jan. 8, 1903. The new bank was chartered with an authorized capital of $50,000.00. The First State Bank has grown and changed in many ways over the past 112 years, however, it still maintains the same qualities and ideas of the original hometown community bank, while using the latest innovations in banking technology.

Malta is a community located in Northeastern Montana where Highways 2, 191 and 242 intersect, providing good access in all directions. The area is used primarily for agricultural purposes and there is an abundance of fishing, hunting and other outdoor opportunities available. The rough, broken land along the Missouri River forms the south edge of Phillips County and offers some of Montana’s prime hunting, as well as fishing. The Milk River cuts a winding path through North Eastern Montana leaving rich soil for crops and grazing.

The First State Bank of Malta is proud to be able to serve the people of this area.
