Southwest 66 Credit Union began in late 1948 as a financial cooperative aimed at serving the needs of Permian Basin employees of the Phillips Petroleum company. The first chairman of the board was D.M. Hankings and the first Treasurer was A.W. Brumbelow. The first branch was located in Mr. Brumbelow's home.


Southwest 66 Credit Union began in late 1948 as a financial cooperative aimed at serving the needs of Permian Basin employees of the Phillips Petroleum company. The first chairman of the board was D.M. Hankings and the first Treasurer was A.W. Brumbelow. The first branch was located in Mr. Brumbelow's home. He installed a drive up window to conduct business from his kitchen table. The mission of the early founders was to positively impact member lives through superior financial services. More than 70 years later, Southwest 66 Credit Union continues to uphold this mission by helping make a difference in the lives of our members and our community.
