Local citizens of Ozona – used to entrusting their funds to the town mercantile’s safe–lined up to make deposits at the new banking institution. Descendants of those founders are still direct employees of the bank and have come to know our customers by name, not just by number.

Around 1848, the Winters and Wimberley families settled between the banks of Cypress Creek and the Blanco River, and founded the quaint hill country village of Wimberley, Texas. The Wimberley Bank was opened in 1972 by local merchants as the population surged. By 1990, the far-sighted folks of Ozona Bank acquired the bank and entered the prosperous central Texas market.
