Union Trades Federal Credit Union began in 1972 as the Plumbers & Steamfitters Federal Credit Union. The Credit Union was founded by union member, ""Bones Garrett"", with the help of 15 brother Pipefitters from Local 565. In 2001, the credit union changed its name to Union Trades Federal Credit Union


Union Trades Federal Credit Union began in 1972 as the Plumbers & Steamfitters Federal Credit Union. The Credit Union was founded by union member, "Bones Garrett", with the help of 15 brother Pipefitters from Local 565.

In 2001, the credit union changed its name to Union Trades Federal Credit Union and opened the field of membership to include several Building & Construction Unions in the Mid-Ohio and Kanawha Valleys. In 2006, the credit union was granted an open community charter by the NCUA and is now able to serve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Wood County, WV or Washington County, OH. By adding new services and additional branches in Charleston, WV and Huntington, WV we are better equipped to meet the needs of our members.
