Mission City Federal Credit Union was founded in 1959 as Santa Clara City Employees Federal Credit Union to serve the employees of the City of Santa Clara, including the police, fire and power departments. Since that time the eligibility has expanded to include the faculty, employees and students of Santa Clara University and other select groups.
