Heritage South, “We Help When Others Won’t” is not just another marketing slogan we came up with; it’s what our members tell us every day. We have story after story about how we’ve done that for other members. We hope you’ll be able to add to those stories as you experience the Heritage South difference! Our membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Bedford, Marshall, or Rutherford Counties.
For the first 49 years of its existence, Heritage South Community Credit Union operated as EPCO Credit Union. In 1957, Harold Hassenfeld, president of Empire Pencil Company, voiced his desire to have his employees form a credit union they could call their own. A handful of employees agreed and opened the credit union in February with 10-15 charter members and operations set up on the Empire premises.
Since then, Heritage South has grown to over 25, 000 members across the communities of Bedford, Marshall, and Rutherford Counties in central Tennessee. We are a non-profit financial cooperative owned by our account holders (known as "members"). This means we put our members’ interests first and aren’t working to make a board of Wall Street investors rich. We host an annual meeting where we provide updates to our members on the financial growth of the credit union and our future vision. Our members also have the opportunity to elect the Board of Directors from among the membership.

CloseLTV is the abbreviation of Loan To Value, and it is the ratio between the Loan Amount and the Property Value. The formula to calculate LTV is Loan Amount divided by the property value.
