Alliance Catholic Credit Union was formed in 2013 through a merger of two credit unions: First Catholic Federal Credit Union and Michigan Catholic Credit Union.

Both Credit Unions were built from small and large parishes with dedicated parishioners seeking a trusted financial option grounded in a foundation of faith. As the Credit Unions grew, the bond of a Catholic presence never diminished.

First Catholic Federal began in 1950 as St. Alfred Parish Credit Union in Taylor. Over the years, mergers included credit unions started at St. Sebastian, St. Mary Magdalene and St. Aloysius parishes.

Michigan Catholic traces its roots to Guardian Angels Parish Credit Union in Clawson, which was established in 1956. Subsequent mergers brought together credit unions from parishes including St. Anastasia, St. Columbian, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and Holy Name.
