WFCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, which means that all of our members are also owners. Our members-first philosophy has served us well over the years. Wichita Municipal Federal Credit Union (WMFCU) was chartered in May 1940 to serve the municipal employees of the City of Wichita.

Wichita Municipal Federal Credit Union (WMFCU) was chartered in May 1940 to serve the municipal employees of the City of Wichita, including the Police and Fire Departments. WFCU still has a branch located inside City Hall and maintains deep ties with all departments within City Hall.
In 2006, WMFCU became Wichita Federal Credit Union (WFCU) and opened membership, welcoming anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Sedgwick County, Kansas to become a member. Since 1940, WFCU has grown to serve more than 12,000 members in Sedgwick County and manage over $155 Million in assets.
