Southwest 66 Credit Union began in late 1948 as a financial cooperative aimed at serving the needs of Permian Basin employees of the Phillips Petroleum company. The first chairman of the board was D.M. Hankings and the first Treasurer was A.W. Brumbelow. The first branch was located in Mr. Brumbelow's home.

Complex Community Federal Credit Union has been open since 1958. The credit union has assets totaling $633.38 Million & provides banking services to more than 40, 000 members as of March 2022. The credit union is a community-based financial institution. People living, working or worshipping in the credit union's geographic area can become a member.

West Texas Credit Union® began in a small room in the ECISD Administration building in 1953. At that time we were known as Ector County Independent School Employee’s Credit Union. Since then, we have expanded our facilities to include the main office and a branch office in Odessa, as well as a branch office in Ft. Stockton.

Heritage USA Federal Credit Union (HUSA) began as Permian Telco Federal Credit Union in 1949 serving Southwestern Bell employees. During the next 53 years Permian Telco allowed Select Employer Groups (SEGs) into HUSA’s field of membership and eligible members had to work for one of the Select Employers to become a credit union member.

My Community Credit Union was federally charted on February 13, 1952, when a local man visited a bank to request a loan for the purchase of a home and was denied. A small group of co-workers for the Atlantic Refining Company (ARCO) joined together to finance this loan so that he could purchase his home.

A half-century ago, in 1956, Ward County Credit Union was founded in Monahans, Texas by a group of teachers and operated out of a class room during the school year and the volunteer manager’s kitchen table during the summer. The member deposits were then and are now used to make loans that benefit the members and the families we serve.

On June 1, 1905, a group of West Texas ranchers joined forces to open Crockett County’s first bank in Ozona, Texas. Local citizens of Ozona – used to entrusting their funds to the town mercantile’s safe–lined up to make deposits at the new banking institution. Descendants of those founders are still direct employees of the bank
